Now for my project:
I have used the Snowman Mini Album file from the Creative Kuts store for just $3.

I loved every minute of creating this file.  The face of the snowman is coated with snow tex, which you can find at your local craft store.  It does take 2-3 hours to dry but the result is worth the wait.  A combination of Christmas pattern papers from Recollections, MAMBY and DCWV paper packs and coordinating colored cardstocks were used..  I added photo mats to pages 3, 4 and 5.  Popped the star on page 3 of the album with 3d pop dots, inked all edges with cat's eye color box inks.  Cheryl taught me the dry brush blush routine for the snowman's face.

Below is a close up of little bits and pieces from my project.

My 1 yr Creative Kuts Anniversary & CK Freebie Too

Hi, hope you've got a great holiday weekend planned, I certainly hope to get in my craft room after all the craziness has stopped.

Can't believe that today makes for 1 yr that I discovered Creative Kuts.  Oh my did I hit the jack pot....

I had purchased SCAL in May of 2011 feeling intimidated by it I didn't touch it until early November.  The very first paper piecing company I came upon was CK.  My very first BAP project was the Build A Turkey.  It was a two stepper BAP.  You created the feathers first, post an image to the fan page as well as send an e-mail letting CK know you had finished step one to receive the second step, the turkey.

Here is an image of my first BAP.

I made 3 by that Wednesday and sent one for each of my son's kindergarten teachers.  They both used them as a table center piece during their turkey feast.

Mind you. it was my very first, and so there is no inking, no popping and no white on the eyes.  Cheryl is probably cringing at the thought of no definition.  haha!  But she knows I love her :-)

Now you can just imagine how super excited I was when Cheryl asked me to become her admin.  The rest of the story, well, you all have witnessed it as a fellow CK follower.

Now for the blog candy:
1. Be a follower of this blog and leave a comment on this post.
2. Go to the Creative Kuts Posts Group Page, join if you aren't a member.
3. Become a fan of CK at CK fan page.
4. Send an e-mail to wanda@creativekuts.com asking for the Build A Turkey file.

Thank you for following my journey.

Trick Or Treat

Trick or treat, smell my feet, gimme something good to eat...  If you don't, I don't care, I'll just pull your underwear.....  Happy Halloween!!!!

Today I sent my son, Branden, to school with treats for both his teacher and the teacher aid.
Cheryl at Creative Kuts created a Frankie candy bar wrapper, that I don't think is in the store just yet.

However, the Frankie Slider Card to match this aweasome wrapper is at the Creative Kuts 2 store :-)

Both stores sell files that come in formats to cut by hand or with a die cutter.  As a matter of fact, Creative Kuts is having a "retiring files" sale as we speak.  Feel free to pay them a visit.

Branden saw the candy wrapper and immediately fell in love with it.  He asked what the things on the side of his head were.  Of course once I said "bolts" we went into deep conversation of just how they got there, why is he green, etc etc.  Gotta love that kid!

2 Blog Hops Makes For 2 Winners

Good Morning everyone and Happy Monday!
Thinking of all my followers who are in the northeastern states as Sandy the "Frankenstorm" is headed towards you.

This past Saturday I was honored to be a part of two great blog hops.  Creative Kuts "Pumpkin Fest" BH, which I am the DT Admin for and Pam Lavertu's "Pam's Spooktacular 40th Birthday" BH.  With that being said I have two winners to announce.  Each Blog Candy consisted of a $5.00 (five dollars) GC to the CK Store.  Did you follow the steps to be eligible to win?

I want to take this time to review the projects for each of the Blog Hops.  The winners are announced in the review for each.

Creative Kuts "Pumpkin Fest" BH I used the Pumpkin Gift Bag from Creative Kuts2 store.
 The pattern papers came from the Recollections "Night & Fall" Signature Series paper pad.  The pumpkins were cut with orange card-stock and the stems with brown.  Black card-stock was used for the shadow on the title and the pumpkin face.  The title layered piece was done with orange textured card-stock.  The pumpkins are embossed with the "D'vine Swirls" embossing cuddlebug folder and 3-d pop dots were used to raise the pumpkin layers and stems.
The winner of the Creative Kuts GC is...  DUN DUN DUN:

Janet, please send me an e-mail to wanda@creativekuts.com and I will get you the details of your prize.  Congratulations :-)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For Pam Lavertu's "Pam's Spooktacular 40th Birthday" BH I used the Boo Mini Album from Creative Kuts
The pattern papers all came from the Recollections "Haunted Estate" paper pad.  For the ghost and the spider I used texture adhesive cardstock.  The spider is embossed with the "swiss dots" embossing cuddlebug folder and 3-d pop dots were used to raise the head from the body.
The winner of the Creative Kuts GC is...  DUN DUN DUN:
Teresa, please send me an e-mail to wanda@creativekuts.com and I will get you the details of your prize.  Congratulations :-)
Hope everyone has an awesome crafty week!
And now for my project:
I used a combination of Martha Stewart's Carnival papers with Me & My Big Ideas papers.
The cupcake stand is pretty straight forward.  Just using different pattern papers gives it the look you are looking for.  Cheryl created the 3-D pumpkin topper, which I am sure will be added to the store very soon.
 Cake Stand from CK2
The utensils caddy is the desk organizer caddy, I embellished it with "monsters" to give it the Halloween theme. This is a versatile file which can be used for many things to organize.
I hope you've liked my project!
Sunshine Blogger Award
Thanks to my friend over at WTF am I thinking for awarding me the Sunshine Blogger Award.  Its great to see that I am visited every now and again :-)
Ok, now on to the award....
I know, I know....  I AM AAH-MAY-ZING!!!  hehehe kidding!
Here are the Rules:
1. Include this awar log either in your acceptance post or somewhere in your blog.
2. Answer 10 questions about yourself.
3. Pass this award on to 10-12 deserving bloggers.
4. Add a link on your post to all the talented winners and comment on their blogs to let them know they've been deemed aah-may-zing.
5. Thank the brilliant soul that recognized your talent and bestowed this wonderful award on you...  And of course link back to them as well.
Q&A Time(EEK!)
1. What would you most like to change about yourself?
I think this will be everyone's answer...  my weight.  No need to ramble on about why...  we all know why....  I LOVE TO EAT!
2. What is your theme song?
well, according to my sister, this is it.
Lady Gaga "Born This Way"
3. One part of your life (memory, action, ect.) that you wish you could surgically remove?
I sat here for over an hour thinking of a part of my life I would "surgically remove" but nothing came to mind.  I'm going to go on a limb and say that if it weren't for those moments I probably wouldn't be who I am today, therefore, y'all wouldn't love me as much as you do.  HAHAHA!
4. What generation do you wish you had been a part of?
The Victorian Era.  I am a true girly girl.  And those dresses...  Oh My! Those dresses
I could stand wearing these things all day everyday...  HAHAHA!
5. What was your favorite childhood toy?
A baby doll.  Not just any baby doll but a life like baby doll called "Natiora" I had the boy.  One day it came up missing and after many days of sadness because she was never found......  Until one day when I was 26, he was found burried in the back yard as my dad was going through his garden.  Who would do such a horrible thing??
Well, it was one of the boy cousins who shall remain nameless...  :-/
6. What is your favorite house cleaning chore?
Who in the hell has a favorite house cleaning chore???  But if I have to choose I'd say Laundry...  Only cause the hubby does it.  HAHAHA!
7. Do you twitter?
One word....  NO!
8. Any goals?
Many.
9. Do you drink Margarita's all the time?
Pretty much.  I am famous for Margaritas 'a la Deezy :-)
10. What is the ugliest car you have ever driven and were embarrassed to be seen in?
My I don't remember year, Omni.  I think that is what it was called.  Lasted maybe 4 months as I took over my parents '84 Buick Regal Limited.  It was the shiz-nit back then, ok!
Now to pass this wonderful award on.
3. Scrappin By Kris
4. Daddy Knows Less
5. Green Apple Scrapper
6. My Daily Jenn-ism
Flat Branden Vacations in PR
My son, Branden, participated in the "Flat Stanley" project.
We decided that the best vacation would be for "Flat Branden" to travel to Puerto Rico and visit his Abu and Tete. It would only be the cost of a stamp instead of a plane ticket :-) "Flat Branden" arrived in Puerto Rico on April 3rd. Since this was a surprise visit, Abu and Tete enjoyed being able to tuck him in for the night and immediately started to plan his vacation on the island....
Keep reading and you will see just where "Flat Branden" ended up. Sure turned out to be an extremely fun experience for Abu and Tete.
Right away, Abu wanted to take "Flat Branden" to her job with her and show how handsome "Flat Branden" is.
Abu works for a Home Care Nursing Home.  They took pictures to show “Flat Branden” was there.
He even made it out unto the patio.
The next day they started their adventures by taking a tour of the in-land parts of Puerto Rico.  Woh, you can see so far away when standing and looking from a mountain.
They also traveled through different mountain roads to see an awesome water view from afar...
Abu and Tete wanted to give “Flat Branden” a tour of the white house, which is where the governor of Puerto Rico lives.  They couldn’t get in, but that didn’t stop them from taking a picture of him on front of the building.
San Juan seems to have a liking for flying kites.  “Flat Branden” was hanging out with a couple of kite flyers.
They visited the San Felipe del Morro Castle.
“Flat Branden” visited the beaches.  Couldn’t go to PR and not go to the beach, right?  Abu and Tete took him to “Del Escambron” beach and they walked the beach-front.
Also on the sand along the water as they held hands.
It was awesome to be able to check out the sail boats sail by.
Then came time to see the cruise ship docking stations.
Tete showed “Flat Branden” where there was a pirate ship.
“Flat Branden”, Abu and Tete ran into a kindergarten class students who were out on a field trip of “Old San Juan”.  They asked if they could hang out with them during the trip and they said yes.
They were starving after all that touring and so into a Burger King they went in to eat.
By the end of the trip, Branden was so glad to be with his Abu and Tete that he climbed up a tree and wouldn’t come down because he didn’t want to leave them.
"Flat Branden" was such a great house guest that Abu took her time to write his teacher a very nice letter.
"My most sincere Thank You for allowing me to share and be a part of the beautiful things that can be done with my grandson, Branden.  As well as giving me the chance to take part given the distance.  I surely enjoyed this project to the MAX.
Hello students of Branden's kindergarten class, Flat Branden, that's me, went on an adventure to an island located in the Caribbean Sea called Puerto Rico.  My mommy's parents live there.  My Abu and Tete were very excited to take me many places.
Our adventures started as we visited the bay where all the cruise ships dock.  And as you can see the adventures went on from there.
Sincerely,
Ramona Rosario"
