Hello all! For those of you who don’t know me, I am Pam of MzLavr2’s Creations. I've been crafting for most of my life and fell in love with paper at an early age. As a teen in the 80s my sister and I walked a few miles from our home to go to Target to look at stationary products. That was a while before the scrapbooking explosion.
In my 20s I was at work and an employee brought in a Creating Keepsakes magazine (Thanks Stacy!). I was instantly hooked! I went to Michael’s right after work and bought all kinds of fun stuff! Through the years I have worked scrapbooking into several relationships, bringing the joy and passion for paper into the lives of those around me. In 2003 I gave up all my supplies and a lot of other things, packed my car and drove from California to Maine. I took some time off from crafting for a few months.
Six months after moving I met my wonderful husband. A year later he showed me that he understood my need to craft when my Christmas present was a red Sizzix device. He went to a craft store on his own to pick something up for me. He asked for help and was told to get that. Of course, the day after Christmas we had to go shopping because he did not get me any dies. The following spring he drove me 3 hours one way (5 the other because he got lost) to go to a convention. There I saw the Wishblade machine. I knew I needed one but had no idea how to afford such a luxury. So it went to the back of my mind. Some time later a friend showed me their Cricut. I was not sure I wanted one but was interested in what it did. Finally a friend talked me into buying one on sale. Luckily, that was before the loss of access to Sure Cuts A lot. I bought the machine and came home and bought the program.
That begins the journey to my current crafting. I got a Silhouette Cameo a year ago as a birthday gift from my supportive hubby. Now I cut and craft almost daily. I am currently on a few design/creative teams. I work with Jen Balding from Girl Boy Girl designs, she does wonderful
digi-scrap kits and some great hybrid templates also known as cutting files. Jen has also started a new line I am working with called This Chick Cuts. They are all cutting files and she has some great ones! Once a month I create a project for the Pause Dream Enjoy Challenge Blog. I work with a great group of crafty ladies there as well. Twice a month I create some inspiration for the Creative Cutting Challenge Blog, with another group of wonderful crafty ladies!
This year I started working with another group of fun people making projects for the Cuttin & Stampin Challenge blog. I also started working with Jessi at My Life in Arts’ n Crafts to help
promote her Etsy store where she sells some fun embellishments. Last year I joined 2 teams that do monthly blog hops. I hop with the Krazy Crafting Crew and the Scraps to Treasures group. In my “spare time" I parent 3 teenage daughters, two of my own and one is a foreign exchange student from Vietnam. I am also a stay at home mom to our 2 year old puppy Dottie.
Today I have a quick and sweet card I made for my Daughter’s 14th Birthday. I used scraps from my abundant stash and added a small pearl to it, these pearls are available from Miriam’s crafting supplies at a super price! The cut file used for the gift on my card is from the Silhouette store.
